MVA, Odlin RD Two Extricated

Two people extricated from vehicle that was involved in motor vehicle collision and left the roadway.  Engine 1, Rescue 1 and Capital were the initial units assigned. Engine 6 and Heavy Rescue 1, were later assigned to the call. The photo can be found at BangorDailyNews with the thier story.

LD 621, Signed.

Presumptive legislation to provide worker’s compensation to fire fighters who contract certain defined cancers associated with the job of fire fighting, LD 621 is now signed. Our own union brothers were on hand to witness this ceremony. A job well done to our leaders and personal thanks goes to Bangor firefighter Ron Greene for his hard work. B-Crew Hose Testing

Every year, all fire hose in the department is tested. This is to weed out older pieces of hose that would fail during fire operations, when life safety is on the line. Each length is brought to specific testing pressure and timed before being approved for further fire service.

I95 Accident, 1 Injury

 Station 5 units were dispatched to a three car MVA on I95 south bound. One driver was injured and transported by Rescue 5 from the scene. Traffic was diverted off of I95 during the incident. Full story and pictures from BangorDailyNews

Garage Fire, 188 West Broadway

Central units dispatched to 188 West Broadway for structure fire. First arriving police units reported smoke conditions from the garage.  Engine 1 reported a working fire in the garage. Central units enroute at 0130 hrs, reported fire under control 0205 hrs.

Ohio & 14th St. MVA

Still Alarm, Engine 1 and Rescue 1 respond to MVA on Ohio and 14th St. vehicle overturned. The passenger car stuck and took out the hydrant located at the intersection.

1st Alarm Fire, 52 Warwick St.

Station 6 and Central units handle working structure fire at 52 Warwick St. Fire was called in as a kitchen fire. First units on scene reported heavy volume of fire, first floor. A-Crew did a stand up job knocking this one down.
